My Bio
Scott G. Brooks is an artist and illustrator who has created artwork for The Washington Post, Metro Weekly, Imagination Stage, WWE, USDA and Forest Service, Cricket Magazine, The Humane Society of the United States, US Navy, Gannet, Analog Magazine, Philips Electronics, Goodwill Industries, and many more. He has illustrated seven children’s picture books, including The Three Armadillies Tuff, The Ring Bear, Mouse on the Move, and all three books in David Michael Slater’s Ned series.
His artwork has been exhibited at The Royal West of England Academy, Last Rites Gallery, La Luz de Jesus, Corey Helford Gallery, Roq la Rue, Mondo Bizarro Gallery in Rome, Flint Institute of Arts, and numerous college and university galleries.

Checked in today to see that "Healthy Competition" was a Daily Deviation a couple days ago. It's great to see all your comments. I hesitate to say what my motivations were when I painted it because I'm having way too much fun reading you're interpretations.
I just finished up open studios this past week. If you're in DC the next one is in October. I'll be showing my work at Last Rites Gallery in New York next Februrary 2015.
Here's a Skype interview I did last week with artist Dave MacDowell - he's been known to do some twisted shit as well.

I'm still painting away and will be in 2 shows this fall, the 13th Hour at Last Rites Gallery, and beinArt Collective group exhibition at Copro Gallery, Santa Monica, CA. I'm also working on a solo show for next year. More info soon. In addition to painting and providing work to galleries, I've always worked as an illustrator and created art for a wide range of clients, but primarily children's publishers. The last year I've shifted gears and embraced my inner nerd and sci fi geek, and my updated website and portfolio represents this.

I'm a deviant from way back. Finally redesigned my tired old website and added new art. Seemed like a great time to get my work up here as well. I signed up about a year ago. Love seeing what everyone is doing.
